Sh*tner My Dad Says

Hmmm, this one could go either way.

The TV version of S*** My Dad Says starts on UK TV tonight, starring William Shatner as said dad who says s***. Now, you're all smart, cultured, net-savvy types, so you know about the Twitter feed of the same name that sired this series, where journalist Justin Halpern passes on all the impressively inappropriate, yet invariably sage, bon mots that his old man comes up with. Example: "You're gonna run into jerk offs. But remember, it's not the size of the asshole you worry about, it's how much shit comes out of it."

Given that the team behind it were also responsible for Will And Grace, it got an almighty trashing from critics stateside and it's on Channel Five's sub-station 5* all mean that we should callibrate for low expectation, then if any of the humour of the original creeps in, it'll be a bonus.

Sh*t My Dad Says is on 5* tonight at 10.30pm.

  2. Did you watch it, John? It's sat on my Sky Plus, but I heard it was woeful - which will be equally impressive, seeing as they had hundreds of one-liner zingers on tap that others shows would have killed for.

  3. Missed it, unfortunately. But if the gpm count on the trailer was anything to go by (most of the material was on target, even when delivered by Shatner) I thought they'd have a hit on their hands. I'll jump in for Ep.2 and see if it's had time to bed in.
